X Plan
Ford Motor Company employees and retirees are encouraged to purchase or Red Carpet Lease vehicles through the Ford Motor Company New Vehicle Purchase Plans - “A-Plan” and “Z-Plan.”

These plans offer dealer net invoice pricing to Ford Motor Company employees (A-Plan) and retirees (Z-Plan), as well as their eligible family members.

Four new products per calendar year my be purchased or leased.		 For non-Ford Motor Company employees, X-Plan provides an opportunity to experience the benefits of driving a Ford Motor Company vehicle. Select individuals may be sponsored by a Ford Motor Company employee or may be eligible as an employee or member of a partner company or organization.

Certain vehicles may be excluded from X-Plan programs.

Two new products per calendar year may be purchased/ leased in total.
Eligible employees include:
  • All active full- time hourly employees and regular salaried employees, beginning with their date of hire.
  • All hourly retirees receiving a normal, early (regular or special) or disability retirement benefit, as long as any medical benefits are being received.
  • Salaried retirees who retired under the General Retirement Plan, including salaried employees who terminate between the ages of 50- 55 and who are eligible to receive certain deferred retirement benefits, are eligible while they are receiving benefits.
  • Surviving Spouses of employees who died while actively employed and Surviving Spouses of retirees who retired under the General Retirement Plan, or who are receiving benefits under the Ford- UAW Retirement Plan.
  • Employees on an approved leave of absence, for the duration of the leave or until expiration of any medical benefits.
  • Employees on layoff for the first 12 months of the layoff.
  • All regular part- time hourly and salaried employees who are eligible to receive medical benefits.
  • Members of the immediate family of the above. "Immediate family" means the following relatives of the employee or retiree:
    spouse
    parents
    spouse's parents
    sons and daughters     (including in- laws and step- children)
    grandchildren
    brothers and sisters     (including in- laws, half and step)
    same- sex domestic partners covered under the health care plan (same as it is defined for health care coverage in the "Salaried Employee Benefit Bulletin #152", dated June 8, 2000.)
    Immediate family members of eligible same- sex domestic partners (same as it is defined above)
    Employees of approved subsidiary companies and approved affiliated companies as eligibility is defined at the time of approval.

NOTE: When both the employee/ retiree and his/ her spouse are deceased, the surviving family members are no longer eligible.

Current X-Plan programs which recognize an ongoing relationship include:

  • Employees (full time, part- time and contract), retirees and their spouses of eligible partner companies - Supplier Partner Recognition
  • Members and spouses of selected organizations/ associations with close strategic ties to Ford Motor Company - Fleet Account Employee Appreciation
  • Selected individuals sponsored by a Ford Motor Company employee or retiree through the Friends & Neighbors Program
  • Participation is by invitation only, not all suppliers, fleets, etc. are eligible

Frequently Asked Questions regarding Rules & Procedures

May the participant purchase or lease?
Yes. You can purchase or lease any qualified vehicle in the New Vehicle Purchase Plan provided you are a qualified participant with a good credit rating. Purchase financing may be obtained at your discretion from any source. But all Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury leases must be executed through Ford Credit's Red Carpet Lease.

Are there restrictions on model years eligible?
Yes, prior model year vehicles are only eligible through March 31st of the current model year.

How long do participants have to keep an "A/X/Z" Plan vehicle?
You must keep an "A" Plan vehicle in your possession and registered in your name for at least six months from the date of purchase or lease.

Can I buy a used vehicle or dealer demonstrator on the "A/X/Z" Plan?
Not a used vehicle, however, a dealer demonstrator is eligible. Check with your Sales Consultant.

What if I'd like additional options on my vehicle?
Optional equipment installed by the dealership and after- market services provided by the dealership are not covered under the New Vehicle Purchase Plan. The dealership may charge any agreed- upon price for these items. Dealer- installed equipment or services, such as undercoating, must be individually listed and priced separately on the buyer's order and the New Vehicle Purchase Plan/ Red Carpet Lease Customer/ Dealer Agreement and Pricing Sheet.

Do I have the standard Ford warranty for my vehicle?
Each vehicle purchased or leased (Red Carpet Lease) will be covered by the same warranty and policy as those offered to retail customers.

Are a "document fee" or any other fees added? Is this allowed?
No. Fees for document preparation or similar administrative services are not allowed. The customer is responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes, license and title fees.

Are trade-in's allowed under these programs?
Yes, however trade-in allowances are not covered by this program. Dealerships should take extra time to explain the trade valuation process, as some plan customers believe that trade valuations are unfair.

How long are these programs in effect?
There is no effective expiration date, however, Ford Motor Company reserves the right to modify the program, remove eligibility, or cancel the program at any time.

Are participants eligible for other incentives?
Yes, for most. A/X/Z-Plan participants are eligible for all public incentives and many incentives normally paid to the dealer. There are some special offers that are not compatible with this offer. Participants are encouraged to contact a dealer to best determine which incentives they are eligible for.

Are Plan participants eligible to receive dealer cash?
Yes, if the dealer cash is a flat pay, the full amount must be passed along to the participant. In the case of a stair-step program, there is typically an A/X/Z-Plan flat pay amount.

How long is a PIN good for?
PIN's remain active for 12 months from date of issue.

What if the PIN provided doesn't work?
The participant may obtain a forgotten or verify their PIN by logging onto the web site where it was obtained, or by contacting the call center. In either case, it is necessary to reference the participant's name and Social Security Number.

Can a vehicle be obtained for my business or for another person?
No, vehicles must be titled and registered in the eligible participant's name for a minimum of six months. Certain Family members may be eligible for A/Z-Plan

Are customers who recently purchased or leased eligible for the program?
No, This special pricing offer is only available when a customer identifies himself or herself as a participant and provides a PIN prior to completing the purchase or lease transaction. The program is not retroactive.
